The Virginia Zoo and Hampton Roads YMCA have come together to offer a unique membership swap opportunity in October 2023. This exciting collaboration allows members of both institutions to enjoy the benefits of the other, providing a diverse range of activities and experiences.
Zoo members who wish to take advantage of this offer must present their valid Virginia Zoo membership card, a photo ID, and complete a guest waiver form at any YMCA of South Hampton Roads or YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas location. This will activate a temporary Y membership, allowing them to enjoy the facilities and services of the YMCA.
Similarly, YMCA members who join the Virginia Zoo during the month of October will receive two extra months of Virginia Zoo membership for free. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the zoo and its various exhibits and programs.
Moreover, members of the Virginia Zoo can visit any of the 34 YMCA locations across the region. On the other hand, YMCA members will enjoy free admission to the Virginia Zoo during October, excluding special events and education programs. They will also receive a 10% discount in the gift shop and food service locations at the zoo.
Zoo members who join the Y in October will not have to pay a joining fee, saving up to $100. Once the Y membership is activated, Zoo members can also avail of discounted member pricing on all programs, including personal training in October, and register for fitness classes!
