The Virginia Aquarium, in partnership with Goodwill Industries, the City of Virginia Beach Public Works, and TFC Recycling, is hosting its winter E-Cycling and household hazardous waste collection event. This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The event will be held at the East Parking Lot of the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center. The Aquarium is collecting personal-use items only and not from businesses at this time. It’s important to note that prescription drugs will not be accepted for recycling at the event this year; however, prescriptions may be dropped off for recycling at any Virginia Beach police precinct throughout the year.
The event is free to the public, but donations are appreciated and will go to the Aquarium’s Green Team and their efforts promoting sustainable practices. Many places charge fees to recycle these items, so it’s great to see somewhere it can be done for free. However, please note that the event is free of charge, but donations are always welcome!
